After completing her internship, Dr Bhawani Singarajah served as a Houseman at Hospital Melaka, starting in January 1994.

This early part of her career saw her in diverse roles, including a Permanent Locum at Clinic Daiman in Johor from January 1994 to December 2000.

Her experience in emergency care deepened when she worked as a Medical Officer in the Accident & Emergency department of Hospital Melaka between January and March 1995.

Taking on a leadership role, Dr. Bhawani Singarajah became the Medical Officer In Charge at Pusat Kesihatan Besar, Kota Tinggi, Johor.

Here, she managed multiple health centers, broadening her administrative and clinical experience.

Her surgical skills were further honed at the Surgical Unit at Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru, starting in September 1996.

She then served as the Senior Medical Officer in charge of the Respiratory Unit at the same hospital from November 1996 to March 1998.
