With a distinguished career spanning several prestigious institutions, Dr John Ranjit Nesaraj has become a leading authority in his field.
He was born in Petaling Jaya and grew up in the plantations of Malaysia.
After completing his primary and secondary studies as well as a short stint in Taylor’s college, he went on to to earn a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, India (1998).
Dr John Ranjit Nesaraj then continued his academic journey to achieve a Masters of Surgery from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2006.
His commitment to excellence is further exemplified by his Board Certification in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, conferred in 2012 by the Malaysian Association of Plastic, Aesthetic & Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons (MAPACS).
He has a keen interest in Cleft surgery, Burn surgery as well as Microsurgical Reconstruction for cancer and trauma.
Dr John Ranjit Nesaraj's career highlights include serving as the Head of the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Sarawak General Hospital from August 1, 2012, to December 31, 2021, where he also held the position of State Advisor.
He has made significant contributions to healthcare, providing expert surgical care in various hospitals, both government and private. Notable among these are Sarawak General Hospital and multiple hospitals in Sarawak, HSAJB, Ara Damansara Medical Centre, and Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre.
A distinguished Board Certified Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon, Dr John Ranjit Nesaraj underwent extensive fellowship training in Plastic Surgery under the mentorship of renowned professionals. His training included stints at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Penang General Hospital, Selayang Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital, and Royal Darwin Hospital, among others.
Dr John Ranjit Nesaraj is not only a skilled practitioner but also a dedicated educator. He actively teaches and engages in surgical training efforts at multiple levels.
He has taught interns, RMOs, and Registrars, and contributed to specialised courses such as the Operating Theatre Nursing Post Basic Course and Stoma Care Post Basic Nursing.
He continues to teach today, as a guest lecturer for Lincoln University College.
Dr John Ranjit Nesaraj is a fully registered member of the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC No. 35059), a Life Member of the Malaysian Medical Association, and a proud member of the Malaysian Society for Surgery of the Hand and the Malaysian Association of Plastic, Aesthetic & Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons (MAPACS).
He also serves as an ATLS Trainer since 2017, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
He is an avid photographer and tries to go scuba diving whenever possible.
